THE SPORTS PAGE
The sports master was Mr Smith, who also taught PT.
His very attractive wife Mrs Smith taught I think French.
They had a lovely old MG, and looked every bit the cool couple!
Miss Pascoe was the girls PE teacher, but I can't recall her for obvious reason!

Sport with Charlie Smith, ex of Newton Spurs 1952
Fred Christophers holds the ball, brother David is third from left.
They both lived in Bickington near me, and taught me a lot about football
and cricket albeit often painfully!

A Field by the Power Station and Railway Station where the Boys went to Play Football
It was about in the centre of this picture that I bobbed someone (who shall remain nameless)
on the nose because he refused to let me replace him in goal! I was sent back to KH and had to
report to Miss Rainford - who was not amused!

Some remember walking to Penn Inn Baths in the Summer term.
I remember arriving by bus, and we could see the water temperature from the
top deck
written on a blackboard by the entrance - very rarely was it warm!
