Mikes Photo Biography.
This is just a light hearted collection of photos of moi from when
I was just a lickle boy in Bickington to the present day.

Bickington village school photo in March 1953. I don't think anyone
else went on to KH or SO.  Can you find me?
One girl in the photo (Sandra Eveleigh) died in a motorbike accident on the S bend
railway bridge on the road to Torquay. Her grave is in the Church yard behind.

Me in Robin Hood at Knowles Hill - My speech was-
"A fine dinner madam, a fine dinner"

Our house in Bickington (the long white house in the centre of the photo)
 called Love Lane cottage.
When we were there the orchard was full of fabulous apple trees
and I learnt to play cricket on the lawn in front of the house.
The river Lemon runs passed the bottom of the garden.
Incredibly I discovered at the reunion that Mike fellows family
lived in the cottage opposite our old house a few years after we left!

Me by our house (above) in Bickington after a hard days rabbiting! in about 1957

My house in Bovey Tracey (marked with a X).
This photo was taken not long after the great storm, and you
can see the large fallen tree in the centre of the picture, and more
damage in the wood just below the cross.
Dick Godolphin lived up the road to the left of the arrow.

In the Army!

Setting off for the Ten Tors expedition in 1962 when I was aged 14 and in the Army cadets.
I've still got my medal!

Me and my little gun in the Junior leaders in sunny Wales!

At the Army outwardbound school in 1964 - Can you spot me!

At a function in Iran with the Helicopter pilot and his engineer and wife in 1976.
I was working there in the oil industry involved with the construction operation
within a vast oilfield in sout Iran - twas a bit hot at time s and once reach 119'F
It was all quite exciting and often involved hair raising trips in a helicopter.

NIGERIA

Crossing a creek in a canoe on a pipeline route survey - a real oil man!

Me and my Chief - He's the guy on the left. The village was by the Benin River
and on every visit I was mobbed by hundreds of screaming kids.

In a canoe in Nigeria to inspect a nearby jetty - Ooops! no lifejacket!
